Ruben Amorim has been heaping praise on Mason Mount after he scored twice as Manchester United thrashed Athletic Bilbao 4-1 to reach the Europa League final. Mount’s two strikes were

The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries since joining from Chelsea in 2023, making just 42 appearances across almost two seasons, but his brace has left Amorim hoping this is the start of a better era for him.
“I’m really delighted for him, he’s an incredible player, he works incredibly hard,” Amorim said.
“Mason looks after himself really well, eats well, has been in the ice baths a lot to recover. Players like this, you want to help him to be successful. He’s perfect for this position, he can play as a midfielder or he can run on the wing, so I’m really delighted for him to do that. “

“When you see that kind of guy like Mason working hard every day, eating well, having ice baths, when you have this kind of player, you just want to help him.
“He is perfect for this position as he can be a midfielder, but also runs like a winger, so I’m really happy for him.”
United had toiled for 70 minutes before Mount sparked the revival.
